PARK CITY, Utah — During a local press event on Wednesday, leadership at Deer Valley Resort announced the launch of a new program for the 2025–26 ski season called Corduroy Lunch. The program is built around keeping specific runs closed until noon, allowing skiers to get fresh tracks on groomed or powder-covered terrain at lunchtime rather than first thing in the morning. The goal is to ease the midday food and beverage rush while offering skiers a unique new perk, locally known as the “Noon Groom.”

The held-back runs will be located in the new East Village Terrain off the Big Dutch mid-station and will vary depending on which slopes were groomed the night before. The program is expected to launch in late December, conditions permitting.
Skiers who have caught a well-timed rope drop know it can lead to one of the best runs of the day — and now, you don’t have to be on first chair to enjoy it.
As part of the experience, Deer Valley will also introduce a new dining item: shepherd’s pie topped with freshly groomed mashed potatoes.
