PARK CITY, Utah — Park City has done it again — and this time, they’ve done it in style. With 583 skis linked end-to-end and 1,410 shot glasses lined up along Main Street, locals and visitors alike tipped back in unison on Saturday to reclaim the world record for the Longest Shot Ski.
The friendly rivalry between Park City and Breckenridge, Colorado has become a beloved tradition — part charity fundraiser, part small-town bragging rights. The two mountain towns have spent nearly a decade passing the title back and forth, each one determined to outdo the other by just a few dozen sips.
Park City first snatched the crown from Breckenridge in October 2024, when more than 1,380 people joined in on the toast. But Breckenridge fired back just two months later, rallying over 1,400 participants to reclaim the record in December.

This year, Park City’s Sunrise Rotary Club, which organizes the event, decided there was only one thing to do — go bigger. Proceeds from every shot glass sold go directly to local nonprofits, continuing the tradition of doing good while having fun.
As the crowd celebrated beneath clear mountain skies, skis clinked, cameras flashed, and Park City once again proved that no one does community spirit — or après — quite like they do.
Next year will be Park City’s 10th anniversary of the tradition, so mark your calendars for Oct. 10, 2026 if you want a spot.
