Mali Noyes chronicles record-breaking ski season in new web series

PARK CITY, Utah – Professional skier and nurse Mali Noyes is giving fans an inside look at her record-breaking season with a new ten-part web series. The series recounts the victories and challenges of her journey, culminating in an historic May feat: skiing every line in Utah’s iconic backcountry guidebook, The Chuting Gallery by Andrew McLean, faster than anyone before her.

Noyes completed all 93 chutes in just 47 days, a grueling schedule that pushed her limits both physically and mentally. Previously, the record was held by Mark Hammond, a Salt Lake City local, who completed it in 5 months.

The web series promises a candid look at the discipline, risk, and exhilaration behind her accomplishments. Episode one features her “ski” descent of the technical Great White Icicle along with a couple lines in Broad’s Fork.

Noyes tackled 77 lines in just 37 days, carving out only seven rest days and often rising at 1 a.m. to get ahead of the melting snow. Even on chutes she had skied before, the challenge of completing all 93 back-to-back created unpredictable conditions and constant pressure.

Her experience as a Nordic ski racer provided the endurance, but many descents required rappels, on-the-fly route adjustments, and split-second decision-making, testing Noyes’ focus and judgment at every turn. Her boyfriend, Spencer Harkins – former Brand Man at Pit Viper – accompanied her on many descents along with a posse of other back country skiing friends.

“We’re sort of in this new age of adding speed and link ups to up the challenge a little bit. Trying the combination of endurance plus the complexity of line,” Noyes said in the video, reflecting on the unique demands of the project.

There is no date set for the release of episode two, so subscribe to Noyes’ channel not to miss it.
