Powder Mountain expands passholder perks, plans new lift access in Wolf Canyon

EDEN, Utah — Powder Mountain is rolling out new perks for passholders and laying groundwork for future terrain expansion as it heads into the 2025/26 ski season.

The independently owned resort, backed by Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, has built its identity around keeping crowds small by limiting day tickets and opting out of multi-resort mega passes. Resort officials say the approach allows skiers and riders to experience wide-open runs and shorter lift lines.

This winter, passholders will see expanded benefits, including eight half-price “Buddy Tickets” with no blackout dates, early lift access on select days, and the return of four weekends reserved exclusively for season passholders. Those weekends, scheduled in February, will include scavenger hunts, après-ski events, and themed activities aimed at building community.

Powder Mountain is also introducing a new youth day ticket for ages 5–12, which resort officials say will make family skiing more affordable. Ski school programming is expanding as well, with evening private and group lessons at the Sundown lift designed to make learning to ski or snowboard more accessible.

Beyond guest perks, the resort is preparing for significant terrain growth. Powder Mountain has started surveying and planning for a new triple lift in Wolf Canyon that would open the so-called DMI area—nearly 1,050 acres of advanced and expert terrain. While the lift is not expected to operate this winter, guests will be able to book guided backcountry tours into the area.

The mountain is also adding to its après and cultural offerings. A new Saturday après series will debut at Timberline Lodge, featuring DJs, fire pits, and a “Special Event Terrain Park” built for competitions and festivals. Meanwhile, the Powder Art Foundation will unveil its first round of artist commissions this season, adding new sculptures to the landscape following last year’s installation of bronze bells by Davina Semo.

Resort officials say the combination of art, terrain, and community-focused benefits reflects Powder Mountain’s commitment to preserving what they call a “life without lift lines” experience.
