Sundance Mountain Resort launches podcast highlighting 50 years of history

SUNDANCE, Utah — Sundance Mountain Resort has launched a new podcast, Outlaws & Outtakes, featuring candid interviews with the people who helped shape the iconic Utah destination over more than five decades.

Hosted by Chad Linebaugh, the resort’s president and general manager, the series explores the colorful history, behind-the-scenes moments, and untold stories from the mountain retreat founded by Robert Redford in 1969.

“People truly make Sundance Resort what it was and is today,” Linebaugh said. “What makes this podcast special are the untold stories these larger-than-life characters have — from over-capacity concerts to cutting new ski runs, and an inside view of the how and why behind Robert Redford’s vision. Outlaws & Outtakes offers a front-row seat to how an artistic community built on conservation principles became Sundance Resort.”

The first season includes interviews with former general managers, longtime employees, business partners and other figures who contributed to Sundance’s evolution. The debut episode, released Aug. 8, features Brent and Fae Beck, who served as general manager for 18 years during the transformative 1970s.

New episodes will be released every other Friday through the fall, ending with a special guest episode to close out the season. The podcast is available on major platforms and at podcast.sundanceresort.com.
