Summit County Fair crowns first Golden Age Queen

COALVILLE, Utah — The Summit County Fair crowned their first annual Golden Age Queen on Aug. 8, 2025. Terry Allison was asked what advice she would give to the younger generations, and her first advice was, “Don’t get old.” She went on to give more sage advice and win the crown. Terry Allison is from South Summit and her attendants are from Park City and Coalville. They are expected to ride on the float at the parade on Aug. 9.

Summit County seniors were treated to bison burgers, a free T-shirt and many prizes from local businesses and arts organizations. Attendance was greater than seen in the last five years, according to one of the attendees.

Kings know how to enchant the crowd too

Other Royalty was in attendance as well. A young king seemed to have his wave well practiced. Next year, expect to see a Golden Age King as well. Most of the adult royalty served the seniors, who couldn’t easily stand in line, their lunch and had their picture taken with seniors.

PRCA rodeos still coming up

The fair will conclude with two more PRCA rodeos at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The PRCA rodeo also has their royalty on site. Queen Isabella Lenthe from Morgan is in nursing school at Weber State University. First Attendant Peyton Bristol from Kamas is a senior in high school and Second Attendant Brixton Howcroft from Vernal just graduated from Uintah High School. Since PRCA rodeos are not just local, the royalty comes from a larger region as well.

Events on Saturday, Aug. 9, start at 7 a.m. with a breakfast at Coalville City Hall.
