Get ready for Recycle Utah’s Summit County cleanup

PARK CITY, Utah — With fall approaching, Recycle Utah is planning a few events to clean up Summit County before winter. Join them Sept. 13 to clean up Park City’s eastern entrance corridor. Then focus on your own property for their popular hazardous waste collection days.
Serve Park City 2025: Kearns Cleanup
Meet in Park City High School’s lower parking lot on Sept. 13 at 9:30 a.m. Wear bright clothing and closed-toed shoes and work gloves. Recycle Utah will be providing some reflective vests, bags and some “picker uppers.” The plan is to clean from the high school along Kearns Boulevard all the way to the intersection with US-40 and along the rail trail. Register for the event here. This cleanup is expected to end by noon.
Coalville HazMat Collection
Also on Saturday, Sept. 13 join Recycle Utah from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Ledges parking lot, 202 Park Rd, Coalville UT 84017 for their free hazardous material collection event. This is for Coalville area residents only and is sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture. Hazardous waste must be in containers of 5 gallons or less. Recycle Utah will be collecting paints, varnishes and solvents, motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline, household cleaners, fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and pool/spa chemicals and acids.
Hazardous Waste Day for all Summit County residents
Due to the construction at the Canyons Village cabriolet parking lot, hazardous waste collection will take place at the Silver King parking lot at the Park City Mountain Village, 1498 Lowell Ave in Park City. Bring your hazardous waste on Saturday, Sept. 27, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. This event is free, but donations are appreciated. It is made possible through help from Park City Municipal, Summit County, Snyderville Basin Water Reclamation District, and Park City Sunrise Rotary.
Recycle Utah’s primary goal is to keep toxic chemicals and heavy metals out of our environment. When toxic materials like mercury, lead, and pesticides end up in the landfill they leach into the ground and our drinking water. This event is limited to Summit County residents. Businesses are not allowed to bring their hazardous waste to this event.
