Kept Kind campaign sparks three days of free events across Park City

PARK CITY, Utah — A three‑day celebration of small, intentional acts of kindness will begin Friday when Mountain Mediation Center, Leadership Park City Class 31 and the city‑wide Kept Kind™ campaign host a free community gathering and unveil Park City’s first “Belonging Bench.”

The kickoff runs 5–7 p.m. Friday at Weedon Family Ranch, with light bites and mingling until 8 p.m. Hands‑on activities will pair neighbors in small‑group discussions, connection exercises and “kindness prompts” aimed at bridging differences and strengthening community ties.

“This is what it looks like when a town turns its values into action,” said Caren Bell, founder of Kept Current and creator of the Kept Kind campaign. “We’re setting the tone for a weekend that celebrates everything that works in this community—starting with the people who make it special.”

Leadership Park City Class 31 will use the event to introduce its class project, the Belonging Benches—public seating designed to invite passersby to pause and talk. “We hope these benches remind people that everyone deserves a seat—and that community starts when we sit down and talk to each other,” said Makaela Herran, a Class 31 participant and project co‑lead.

Kris Campbell, program director at Mountain Mediation Center, called kindness and connection “essential skills for building strong communities. This event gives people the space to slow down, engage meaningfully, and practice the kind of listening and interaction that makes our town more resilient.”
