PARK CITY, Utah – The Summit Land Conservancy is inviting community members to join their annual Hops Hunters series. Guided hikes will take participants through protected land to search for wild-growing hop binds while guides present on local history and teach hikers to identify native and invasive species along the way. The groups will embark at 6 p.m. and the hike will last around an hour and a half. Participants should wear hiking shoes and sunscreen and bring plenty of water.
The conservancy is teaming up with Top of Main Brew Pub for the series, where hikers can gather for a post-hike brew.
In early fall, the series will continue with harvest hikes (dates to be determined). Once the hops are harvested, a limited edition open space beverage will be brewed and sold through Top of Main Brew Pub. A portion of the profits from the truly local brew will be given to the Conservancy to protect additional open spaces of the Wasatch Back.
