Soccer goal stolen from Trailside East Park: Basin Rec seeks tips

PARK CITY, Utah — Basin Recreation is asking the public to help locate a full-size soccer goal stolen from Trailside East Park sometime over Memorial Day weekend, the district said in a Facebook post.

Employees reported the theft to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office on May 28, according to Sgt. Skyler Talbot. Investigators believe the 24-foot welded-metal goal, valued at $2,000, was taken between May 23 and May 25. With no surveillance footage or investigative leads, the case is now closed, Talbot said, but it would be reopened if a suspect is identified; the offense would carry a potential third-degree felony charge.
