Police log: Crystal meth seized; Driver arrested for DUI after passing patrol car

Incident Nature: Pursuit / Agency Assist
Deputies assisted Wasatch County and Utah Highway Patrol in a pursuit that ended at mile 148 on I-80 Eastbound.

Thursday, June 5
Incident: Non-Injury Accident
An accident across the street from Fresh Market saw a truck tire fly off and hit a city bus, according to police logs.
Incident: Drugs
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for revoked registration and no insurance. During the traffic stop, a K9 was deployed and provided a positive indication on the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and found approximately 1.6 ounces of crystal methamphetamine as well as several open containers of alcohol. The male driver was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail for drug related charges
Friday, June 6
Incident Nature: DUI
Deputies were advised of a vehicle that could not maintain its lane of travel while traveling on I-80. When they located and stopped the vehicle for moving violations, it was traveling south on SR 224. The driver of the vehicle showed signs of impairment and performed poorly on a field sobriety test. Deputies placed the driver into custody and transported them to the Summit County Jail, without incident. The driver’s vehicle was impounded and a dog present in the vehicle was taken to animal control.
Saturday, June 7
Incident Nature: DUI
Deputies were dispatched to check on a vehicle off of the side of US 40 that was spotted by a passing PCPD unit. When they arrived and made contact with the driver of the vehicle, there was a distinct odor of alcohol. The driver performed poorly on a field sobriety test, and deputies placed the driver into custody and transported them to the jail without incident.
Sunday, June 8
Incident Nature: Theft
While patrolling the area of Jeremy Ranch, deputies located a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle related to a theft. They made contact with the driver, who was also identified in the same theft. The driver was taken into custody, and the vehicle was seized, as there was potentially stolen property in the vehicle as well as burglary tools.
Incident Nature: DUI
Deputies observed a vehicle stopped in a lane of travel near E Highland Dr. They further observed multiple moving violations along with the vehicle stopping in a lane of travel. When they initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, they observed numerous open containers in the vehicle along with an odor of alcohol. The driver performed poorly on a field sobriety test. Deputies placed the driver into custody and transported them first for medical clearance and then to the jail without incident. The vehicle was state tax impounded.
