PARK CITY, Utah – Crews with the Utah Department of Transportation have begun clearing Guardsman Pass, a popular seasonal mountain road connecting Park City, Big Cottonwood Canyon, and Midway.
UDOT said Wednesday that about 65% of the road has been cleared so far, but some sections remain buried under as much as 11 feet of snow. The agency described the process as a “clear, melt, clear” cycle and emphasized that no official opening date has been set.
“We’re just as eager for those epic scenic views as you are,” UDOT said in a social media update, encouraging the public to stay tuned for further progress reports.
Guardsman Pass typically opens in late spring or early summer depending on snowpack and weather conditions.
