PARK CITY, Utah — The Park City Library announced a call for entries for the upcoming art exhibition season. Artists are invited to submit their work for consideration in exhibitions displayed in the library’s community-focused gallery space. The submission period is open and will run through May 31.
A committee selects art exhibitions at the Park City Library based on various factors, including community interests, artistic quality, the diversity of shows, and the suitability of the format for the library’s physical space. The library welcomes submissions from both individual artists and artist collectives, offering opportunities to showcase a range of two-dimensional (2D) art forms. All artwork may be presented for exhibition or sale, and exhibitions can feature a single artist or a consortium of creators.
At this time, the Park City Library can only accommodate two-dimensional artwork. Accepted mediums include painting, photography, illustration, printmaking, and other flat works suitable for wall display.
Artists interested in participating must submit the following:
- Artist Portfolio:
- A collection of 10–20 images representing works that can be exhibited as a unit.
- All images should be well-lit and photographed against a neutral background.
- Include dimensions of each work in the image descriptions.
- Online Art Exhibit Application Form:
- Complete the application form available on the Park City Library website.
- Only one application per artist is permitted during each Call for Entry period.
For additional details on submission guidelines, artists are encouraged to review the Exhibit and Display Policy on page 16 of the library’s policy manual.
Acceptance and Exhibition Details
Artists will be notified of their acceptance or rejection within six weeks following the deadline. Accepted works may be displayed for up to three months, with exhibitions typically aligning with the seasons: Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Before the exhibition begins, artists will meet with a library representative to:
- Tour the exhibit space and address any questions.
- Review exhibit policies and procedures.
- Sign the exhibition agreement and contract.
Artist Responsibilities
Artists are responsible for the following:
- Hanging their artwork in the library’s gallery space. All pieces must be wired and ready for display on pre-installed art rails.
- Providing a detailed list of artworks, including titles, mediums, and dates for labeling.
- Supplying high-resolution digital images for promotional use.
While the Park City Library does not facilitate sales, all sales inquiries will be directed to the artist or their representative. Multiple artists may be exhibited simultaneously, offering a diverse experience for visitors.
Submit your portfolio and application form by May 31, to be considered for this exciting exhibition opportunity.
