PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Fit invited the community to honor the nation’s veterans and the families who made the ultimate sacrifice during its Memorial Day event. As part of a long-standing tradition, the gym hosted a “Murph” workout in tribute to Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005.
The workout consisted of:
- 1 mile run
- 100 pull-ups
- 200 push-ups
- 300 squats
- 1 mile run
Participants were encouraged to complete the workout at their own pace, and Park City Fit offered several modified versions to ensure that individuals of all fitness levels could take part in a safe and appropriate way.
Memorial Day t-shirts were sold, with all proceeds donated to the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Scholarship Foundation. Attendees also enjoyed acai bowls, cold plunges for recovery, and electrolytes provided by Redmond.
The event was open to all, and Park City Fit welcomed anyone interested in commemorating Memorial Day through community, movement, and remembrance.
