SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — Summit County residents will be able to safely dispose of household hazardous waste at no cost during an upcoming spring cleaning event. Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Silver King Lot at the Mountain Village Base of Park City Mountain Resort.
Organizers emphasized that this year’s collection site has changed from previous years. The event will occur in the Silver King Lot, not the Cabriolet Lot. This detail is critical for residents planning to attend.
“This is a convenient way for the community to responsibly dispose of potentially harmful materials and keep them out of our environment,” said a spokesperson for Recycle Utah, the event’s coordinator.
The event is open exclusively to Summit County residents, and business waste will not be accepted. While the disposal service is free, donations are encouraged to support ongoing environmental initiatives.
Paints, solvents, household cleaners, batteries, and pesticides are accepted. Residents are encouraged to review the full list of accepted materials by visiting recycleutah.org/events.
Event partners include Recycle Utah, Park City Municipal, Summit County, the Bicycle Collective, Park City Rotary Club, and the Snyderville Basin Water Reclamation District. These organizations play a key role in protecting local watersheds and preventing toxic chemicals from contaminating the environment.
