SALT LAKE CITY — The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation announced the distribution of $469,000 in grants to support local safety, health and wellness initiatives across Utah, Wyoming and Idaho. The funding is intended to strengthen community organizations that address the needs of vulnerable populations and work toward building healthier and safer environments.
In a statement, Dick Garlish, director of the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation and president of Rocky Mountain Power, said the grants will expand the reach of local nonprofits already making a meaningful impact.
“These local organizations are doing essential work that benefits everyone in our community,” Garlish said. “This funding by the foundation will help amplify their efforts to support our neighbors and improve the day-to-day lives of people in all parts of our communities.”
The foundation, which awards grants quarterly, awarded 91 grants in total during this round. The funding will assist programs providing food aid, shelter, healthcare services, and public safety enhancements. Beneficiaries include services for teenagers, families, seniors, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and survivors of child abuse and domestic violence.
Several organizations in Utah received funding, such as the Christian Center of Park City, People’s Health Clinic, and Utah Food Bank. These recipients reflect a cross-section of efforts tackling food insecurity, healthcare access, and family support services.
