Police log: Injured skier airlifted, multiple DUI arrests, hotel disturbance

April 8

Wasatch Emergency Dispatched received a 911 call reporting an injured skier. The Skier had a severely injured elbow. Wasatch County Search & Rescue responded to the area. Brighton Ski Patrol was already on their way from the Resort on the back side of Snake Creek. The remoteness of the area required extraction via Medical Helicopter. Intermountain Life Flight did an awesome job of hoisting the patient.

Incident: DUI

Deputies located a vehicle that was idling in the parking lot of the Petco well after business hours. A female was located in the driver seat, slumped over and asleep; after having a brief conversation with the female, signs of impairment were observed. An investigation was conducted for driving under the influence, and the driver was subsequently arrested. She was booked into Summit County Jail without incident.

April 9

Incident: DUI

Deputies stopped a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit. During the initial contact, Deputies observed signs of possible impairment in the driver. Deputies ran the drive-through field sobriety tests and conducted a DUI investigation. After the investigation, deputies determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol and not safe to operate a motor vehicle. The driver was subsequently arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail for DUI and traffic-related offenses.

April 14

Incident: Intoxication, Drugs

Deputies responded to the Westgate Hotel on an active domestic dispute. When deputies made contact with the involved parties, deputies learned an altercation had taken place between an intoxicated male and female, causing a disturbance among staff and guests at the hotel. Deputies arrested the male for intoxication to keep the peace and ensure the safety of the parties involved in the altercation. During the arrest, the male subject was found to be in possession of THC. The male subject was subsequently transported and booked into the Summit County Jail.
