SEATTLE, Wash. — The Park City Fire District secured an impressive second-place finish at the 2025 Firefighter Stairclimb in Seattle, while helping raise more than $2.2 million for blood cancer research and patient support.

Eight members of the Park City Fire District competed in the annual event, which challenges firefighters to climb more than 1,300 steps of Seattle’s Columbia Center in full turnout gear. The Park City firefighters contributed over $3,800 to the fundraising total.
The charity event, benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), drew 1,908 participants from 277 teams worldwide this year.
“We want to take a moment to recognize and congratulate our outstanding Park City Fire District team for their incredible performance at the 2025 Seattle Stair Climb,” the department announced on social media. “Competing against firefighters from across the globe, our team demonstrated unwavering dedication, perseverance, and strength—securing an impressive 2nd place overall!”

Team members included Captain Rob Takeno, Engineer Dave Horning, Critical Care Paramedic Hudson Zwahlen, Paramedics Jackson Letterman and Crispin Calvert, Rescue Tech Firefighter Keaton Williamson, and Firefighters Johnny Price and Bryson Allison.

The annual stair climb not only tests firefighters’ physical abilities but also serves as a tribute to the resilience of both firefighters and the blood cancer patients they support.
