Park City Fashion Week returns with spotlight on local talent
PARK CITY, Utah — Couture fashion returns to Main Street with Park City Fashion Week on Sunday, Jan. 26.
Organized by founder Kim Kienow, the event promises an eclectic mix of couture designs, local boutique collections, and emerging talent, taking place at Marquee on Main during the opening weekend of the Sundance Film Festival.
“We wanted to bring the runway to the Rockies,” said Kienow, who launched Park City Fashion Week in 2020. “This year, we’re excited to include some of Park City’s unique boutiques like Chamomile, Panache, The Collective, and We Norwegians, alongside our custom couture designers.”
Elevating Local Fashion
For the first time, the show incorporates boutique capsule collections styled as editorial showcases. “We want attendees to enjoy the artistry while also having the option to shop locally,” Kienow said. The integration of local boutiques aligns with Kienow’s vision to elevate Park City’s creative scene during a bustling festival season.
Event Details
Park City Fashion Week runs from 1-5 p.m., beginning with a mix-and-mingle session accompanied by live music and cocktails, followed by the runway show at 2 p.m. Afterward, attendees can shop collections featured during the event.
Reflecting on the challenges of hosting during such a high-profile week, Kienow noted, “Competing for venues during the festival is intense, but it’s part of what makes this event special. We’re showcasing what Utah’s fashion scene has to offer on an elevated stage.”
Tickets and Future Plans
While this year’s event is a single-day affair, Kienow hinted at plans to expand Park City Fashion Week into a multi-day event in the future. For now, the spotlight remains on Sunday’s show, where artistry and innovation will take center stage.
