Chris Seemann, or as he puts it, “that’s my real name, but my ski name is SeeDog,” has been the U.S. Ski and Snowboard’s Freestyle Technical Advisor for 22 years. We caught up with him at Deer Valley on Thurs. where he told TownLift, “Nick skied amazingly, against a very difficult field there, and came up with the silver medal, so, he killed it. We hope it’s gonna duplicate, or better here on his home hill.”

Preparing the course alongside experts from the International Ski Federation FIS is where SeeDog shines. He said, that the process in the week leading up to World Cup, creating and shaping the moguls and building and forming the aerial jumps is “perfect, Deer Valley always gives us all the materials and all the snow we need so, the event it’s going to be great.”

Park City’s own Nate Gendron, 18, made his mark on the international stage, claiming an impressive eighth-place finish in dual moguls at the Junior World Ski Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on January 8. The Wasatch Freestyle athlete and Park City High School student went head-to-head with the world’s best young skiers, showcasing his talent on the global stage. He scored 115.20 FIS points at the event and was the highest finishing American at the competition.

Wasatch Freestyle founder, director and coach John O’Brien told TownLift at Deer Valley, “Nate is definitely having an exciting season and were all proud of his dedication as he continues to improve. The moguls training the team gets to do at Deer Valley is helpful on countless levels. I’m looking forward to watching Nate compete at the upcoming World Cup right here in Park City.”
