From powder to pucks: Ski Utah Passport holders trade mountain snow for hockey ice
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – While kids who participate in Ski Utah’s passport program might rarely encounter treacherous mountain ice here in the Utah mountains, they’ll soon get a chance to glide into a different winter experience—watching Utah’s professional hockey team at the Delta Center. On January 18th, these slope enthusiasts can swap ski boots for spectator seats, trading alpine challenges for the smooth skating lines of the Utah Hockey Club.
Ski Utah Passport holders can attend a Utah Hockey Club morning skate before the team’s game against the St. Louis Blues on January 18th. The event, limited to 5,000 participants (2,500 passport holders with one adult guest), offers a behind-the-scenes look at the team’s pre-game preparation.
Attendees will receive two redemption codes for future 2024/25 Regular Season games.
Alison Palmintere, Director of Communications for Ski Utah said parents can sign up for the opportunity online in the parent portal once a Ski Utah Passport purchase has been made.
Ski Utah’s Passport program is an annual discount pass for Utah youth skiers and snowboarders in grades 4-6th grade. For a fixed price of $89, participants receive three free lift tickets at each of Utah’s ski resorts, allowing kids to explore multiple mountains throughout the winter season. The program aims to make skiing more accessible and encourage young people to experience Utah’s diverse ski terrain.
