BalletNEXT Nutcracker with a special Park City twist
PARK CITY, Utah — Following up their performance of Giselle, BalletNEXT invites you to enjoy “Park City’s newest holiday tradition” Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Park City Library. BalletNEXT Nutcracker at the Library is a special adaptation of the beloved holiday classic.
Aerialist Megan Smallhouse joins BalletNEXT
Expect breathtaking ballet, captivating storytelling, and a few Park City surprises as they travel to a magical winter wonderland that is sure to delight audiences of all ages. This year, former U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Aerialist Megan Smallhouse is joining BalletNEXT for some high-flying acrobatics. They are also debuting a new work performed to Josh Kelley’s song “Loves You Like Me.”
Families are welcome at this performance
“My family goes to BalletWest’s performance every year. But, with this performance at the Library, I appreciate the accessibility that BalletNEXT brings to the art form,” says Becca Lael, Senior Community Engagement Librarian. Small people are welcome to wear festive pajamas, bring stuffed animals and blankets to enjoy the show snuggled up in their seats. The event is free, but tickets are required.
Megan Smallhouse, who recently placed ninth at the 2024 Intermountain Health Freestyle International at Deer Valley, will hold a Q&A session after the performance. The 23-year-old recently retired from the U.S. Ski & Snowboard aerial competition team and graduated from the University of Utah with a Kinesiology degree. She aims to continue her education while gaining hands-on experience in applied physical therapy.
