HEBER CITY, Utah – A 14-year-old boy was arrested by Heber City Police last week after being found with a loaded handgun in his backpack. Police also found drugs and other drug paraphernalia in the backpack.
Police responded to the home, which was not his own, after receiving an anonymous tip that the boy had a gun on Friday, Oct. 25. He was arrested for more than one weapons crime.
Heber City Police Sgt. Josh Weishar said the 14-year-old has had other run-ins with police. Currently, the boy is being held at the Slate Juvenile Detention Center in Provo.
