PARK CITY, Utah – The World Record Shot Ski rivalry continued on Park City’s Main Street Saturday as 1,385 people bellied up to set a new World Record and take ski-town bragging rights from Breckenridge, Colo.
The friendly rivalry passes between the two ski towns; they alternate breaking the shot ski world record each year. This is the eighth time Park City has earned the title, and this year, Park City did it with just eight more people than the Colorado rival’s past effort. The event is a fundraiser for the Park City Sunrise Rotary Club, which puts on the event. This year, the event raised $66,000 to support local community groups.
Each participant got to choose between apple juice or High West Double Rye Whiskey in their shot glass, which sat atop a single giant shot ski made of 550 skis fixed together with screws.
