Park City Community Foundation (PCCF) launches Zero Food Waste program
In a bid to tackle food waste, the Park City Community Foundation (PCCF) has launched an ambitious Zero Food Waste program. Andy Hecht, PCCF Climate Fund Manager, will join the Sept. 10 event to discuss this initiative, which aims to divert all food waste from the Summit County landfill by 2030. The foundation’s collaboration with Wasatch Resource Recovery plays a crucial role in this endeavor.

As autumn approaches, residents can prepare for the annual Summit County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day. Set for Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canyons Cabriolet parking lot, this free event offers a perfect opportunity for locals to responsibly dispose of materials from their winterization projects. Old paints, varnishes, solvents, and batteries are just a few of the items accepted. Residents are encouraged to check the website for a comprehensive list of acceptable materials.
