Police Log: multiple Heroin and Methamphetamine arrests
Thursday, August 22
Possession of Methamphetamine, Heroin
During a traffic stop for an expired temporary registration on Silver Springs Drive the driver and owner of the vehicle admitted to possessing drugs in the vehicle and on her person. The driver was subsequently arrested for possession of user amounts of methamphetamine and heroin.
Saturday, August 24
DUI
Deputies initiated a traffic stop for several lane violations committed by a vehicle traveling on Ute Boulevard. Deputies noticed signs of intoxication and conducted standard field sobriety tests on the driver. The driver performed poorly on the tests and was subsequently arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. A highly intoxicated female passenger became belligerent with the arresting deputies and was also arrested on multiple charges.
Monday, August 26
Possession of Methamphetamine, Heroin
A vehicle in the Walmart parking lot was approached after it was discovered that the registered owner had an active warrant. During the encounter, a certified narcotics K9 was brought in and indicated a positive alert for narcotics. A search of the vehicle then uncovered user quantities of methamphetamine and heroin. Both occupants were subsequently arrested.

DUI
Deputies pulled over a vehicle on westbound I-80 for several moving violations. The driver failed the standard field sobriety tests and admitted to using opiates before driving. He was arrested and taken to jail.
Friday, August 30
Vehicular Pursuit
Deputies tried to stop a gray Chrysler 300 in the Chevron parking lot at SR-224 due to no visible registration. The vehicle fled the scene and continued westbound on I-80. The pursuit was called off when deputies lost sight of the car due to traffic. The vehicle was described as a gray Chrysler 300 with no visible registration, appearing to be primed for painting with no distinguishing markings.
Possession of Methamphetamine, Heroin, Fentanyl
During a traffic stop on I-80, a search of the vehicle following a K9 alert uncovered user quantities of fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine. Both occupants were arrested, and the vehicle was impounded.
Saturday, August 31
DUI
Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at the Sundial Hotel. The complainant reported an argument with his girlfriend, who had left the hotel intoxicated. Deputies located her vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, detecting a strong odor of alcohol. She failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on DUI charges. The domestic disturbance was determined to be a verbal altercation only.
Monday, September 2
Possession of Marijuana
While patrolling Olympic Parkway, deputies observed a vehicle parked in the Run A Muk park after hours. They contacted the driver, who was found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The male was arrested and booked into Summit County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tuesday, September 3
DUI
While patrolling the Jeremy Ranch area, deputies noticed a vehicle with a broken rear left tail light near the I-80 westbound onramp. They conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, who was the sole occupant. During the stop, the driver exhibited slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol was detected. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested for DUI and booked into Summit County Jail without incident.
