Park City Performing Arts returns, unveils diverse winter series
PARK CITY, Utah — After an eight-year stint as the Park City Institute, the organization formerly known as Park City Performing Arts (PCPA) is reclaiming its original name. The rebranded PCPA is set to launch its Winter Series at the Eccles Center, offering a diverse lineup that spans from high-energy musical performances to thought-provoking documentaries and world-class speakers.
Ember Conley, director of Park City Performing Arts, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming season. “We’re bringing a variety of world-class entertainment to our community,” Conley said. “Our winter series showcases a broad spectrum of talent and genres.”
The season introduces three new series: Nat Geo LIVE, Behind the Gold and the Excellence Concert Series. Each aims to engage audiences in unique ways.
Winter Season includes free admission to the Excellence Concert Series
The Excellence Concert Series, presented in partnership with Excellence in Community, will offer free concerts featuring Utah music professionals. Funded by the Summit County RAP Tax, the series kicks off Sept. 14 with “Broadway and Beyond,” featuring soprano Melinda Kirigin-Voss, tenor and cellist Brian Stucki, and pianist Dr. Jared Pierce.
In preparation for the 2034 Olympics, the Behind the Gold series, created in collaboration with the National Ability Center, will bring Olympians and Paralympians to share their stories. Athletes like Ted Ligety, Chris Waddell and Picabo Street are set to offer behind-the-scenes glimpses of their Olympic journeys.
Nat Geo LIVE series includes special outreach programs for students
The Nat Geo LIVE series will feature talks by National Geographic explorers and experts, including Andres Ruzo, Nalini Nadkarni and Doug Smith. These presentations aim to inspire curiosity about the natural world and will include special outreach programs for students.
With this revamped identity and expanded program offerings, PCPA aims to provide enriching cultural experiences for both Summit County residents and visitors throughout the winter season.
Tickets for the 2024-25 Winter Series are available at the PCPA website or at showpass.com or by calling the box office at (435) 655-3114. Season sponsorship, memberships, individual tickets, and group, student, senior, and military discounts are all available.
