Help name Wasatch County’s new high school

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah – The new high school in Wasatch County is seeking community input for name and mascot recommendations.

The new school, built on the right-hand side of SR-113 west of Heber City, is currently under construction and is expected to open for the 2026-2027 school year.

Wasatch County School District currently encompasses an online school, five elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and one alternative high school campus.

People can now complete an online survey to give their thoughts on the new high school’s identity.

The survey includes six options: Iron Horse Broncos, Heber Valley Haymakers, North Field Riverhawks, Deer Creek Lightning, Mountain Valley Mustangs, and Snow Horse Sentinels.

The survey is not a vote but a tool for school board members to better understand the community’s preferences. It will be available until Friday, September 20.

According to the district website, student enrollment in grades 9-12 is expected to reach 3,231 by fall of 2026.
