From trails to tables: Park City’s Hike for Hunger supports local food pantries
PARK CITY, Utah — Join the Christian Center of Park City (CCPC)’s annual Hike for Hunger event on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Canyons Village. The event aims to raise awareness and support for hunger and food insecurity issues in Summit and Wasatch counties.
Participants will trek beautiful Park City trails while enjoying family-friendly activities, food, and live music. The event directly supports CCPC’s food pantries and various food assistance programs. Individuals, families, and sponsors can register to make a difference.
Tickets are available for purchase, and there are options to sponsor those in need to attend the event. An individual ticket costs $75.47 including the service fee and a family ticket costs $150.17 including fees.
CCPC seeks volunteers to help make Hike for Hunger 2024 a success. General greeters are needed, and all volunteers receive free admission to enjoy the event before or after their shift, including food and drinks.
Those unable to volunteer for Hike for Hunger can consider helping at CCPC’s food pantries. Volunteers assist with unloading and organizing donations, greeting customers, maintaining the pantry, and supporting recycling and composting efforts. Occasionally, volunteers help with grocery pick-ups or special projects.
Those interested can fill out a volunteer application or email jaimec@ccofpc.org with any questions.
