Grant Fisher of Park City wins bronze in Paris Olympics 10,000 meter run

Fisher completed his high altitude training in Utah

PARIS — Grant Fisher, representing USA, won the bronze medal in the 10,000 meter run in the first track and field final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games today.

According to Olympic reporter Alex Cabrero of KSL TV, Fisher is a recent resident of Park City.

The final lap was a blur of bodies to Utah fans watching live at 2 p.m. Mountain Time on the NBC  networks.

When asked by Mike Terico, NBC Olympics host, prior to the Games why he spent so much dedicated time in Utah at 7,000 feet above sea level, Fisher said, “That’s so I can finish in a sprint.” Utah training paid off big as the 27-year-old Michigan native sprinted across the finish line.

In his second Olympics, the Tokyo competitor had a slight stumble in the middle of the Pais race, but didn’t let it distract him. Ethiopia took home the silver medal, and Uganda won gold.
