Heber man in custody without bail following arrest for aggravated assault charges
HEBER CITY, Utah – On Monday, Wasatch County prosecutors filed aggravated assault and kidnapping charges against a 21-year-old Heber man who physically assaulted a woman and tried to drag her into his car while she resisted and screamed, an arrest affidavit said.
Police had to restrain Felipe Analco Hidalgo as they attempted to take him into custody.
Hidalgo is also charged with a handful of misdemeanor charges including assault, driving under the influence and interfering with a police officer, court papers said. In May, Hidalgo had a fight with the same woman. At the time, the woman asked police for protection out of concern that he might “do something to her.” Hidalgo told police it was only an argument.
Wasatch County prosecutors filed first-degree felony aggravated kidnapping and third-degree felony aggravated assault charges against Hidalgo on August 20. He was booked into Wasatch County Jail the night of Sunday, August 19, whre he is being held without bail because police determined the woman and her children would be at high risk if he were to post bail.
