One in critical condition after US-40 collision near Strawberry Reservoir
WASATCH COUNTY, Utah – A crash on highway US-40 involving an RV and a semi-truck left one person in critical condition and two more injured on Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened near Strawberry Reservoir in Wasatch County, roughly nineteen miles outside Heber City.
The incident took place when an empty tanker semi-truck, traveling eastbound on US-40, was struck by an RV turning westbound onto the same road.
The driver of the semi received minor injuries, Utah Highway Patrol said. The driver of the RV was transported to a nearby hospital and the passenger of the RV was flown to a hospital in critical condition.
Motorists were encouraged to find different routes as the roads remained closed. UDOT warned of significant delays in the vicinity.
As a result of the crash, four lanes were closed, leading to substantial traffic congestion in the area.
