UPDATE: Firefighters establish perimeter in Kamas fire

The second fire in three days ignites in Kamas, less than a mile from the Murdock Hollow fire

KAMAS, Utah – (Update 6:17 a.m.) The fire is approximately 5 acres and is 20% contained. Crews have an established a perimeter around the fire and have halted forward progress.

Fire officials are reporting a new wildfire has ignited in Kamas at approximately 3 p.m. The fire is estimated at 3-4 acres and no structures are threatened.

The brush fire is located on the west side of Democrat Alley in Kamas.
