Gear up for Tour des Suds: Park City’s most entertaining mountain bike race returns Sept. 8
Start costume shopping; early registration ends July 31.
PARK CITY, Utah — The Tour de Suds, Park City’s annual 7-mile mountain bike climb, is set to return on Sept. 8. The event kicks off at City Park at 10 a.m. and features a challenging 2,200-foot ascent to Empire Pass. Participants are encouraged to go all out, whether racing for awards or participating in the crazy costume contest, to kick off the start of the fall season.
Early registration for Tour des Suds ends July 31. Early registration costs for adults aged 18 and over is $40, youth aged 12 to 17 is $15, and children under 12 can register for free. Pre-registration is available from August 1 to September 6, with the fee increasing to $50 for adults and $20 for youth. Children under 12 remain free. On the day of the event, if space is available, adults can register for $60 and youth for $25.
The race will start with a mass start from City Park at 10 a.m. on September 8. Post-race celebrations will begin at 11 a.m. at City Park, followed by the awards ceremony at 1 p.m.
Custom jerseys are no longer available as the order deadline has passed. However, all racers will receive a pair of socks, a meal ticket, and a beverage. Participants aged 21 and over can choose a beer option, while non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. E-bikes are not allowed in the event.
Racers can pick up their race plates and socks on Saturday, September 7, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Mountain Trails Offices, located at 5792 Highland Drive. Additional details for number plate and sock pickup will be announced soon.
