Tickets on sale June 25 for PGA’s ‘Korn Ferry Tour’ in SLC
The Utah Championship—one of the longest-running stops on the Korn Ferry Tour—will be held August 1-4, 2024
FARMINGTON, Utah — The Utah Championship, hosted by the Utah Sports Commission, is back August 1-4 at Oakridge Country Club just north of Salt Lake City. Intermountain Health is making its debut as a co-presenting sponsor alongside Zions Bank. Now entering its 33rd year, tickets for one of the longest-running stops on the Korn Ferry Tour will go on sale next Tuesday, June 25.
Last year, Roger Sloan snapped his winless drought of nine years to become the 2023 Utah Champion. A few months later, Sloan parlayed that victory to earn his PGA TOUR card. Korn Ferry Tour is the path to the PGA TOUR, and “It all starts here.”
“Utah Championship is a mainstay in The State of Sport and its growing golfing community,” said Utah Sports Commission president and CEO Jeff Robbins said in a statement. “So many of our local athletes got their start right here in our state and have advanced to the big stage. From the six-time PGA TOUR winner Tony Finau to the 2024 rookie with a recent T4 finish Patrick Fishburn, it really does all start here.”
Utahn Finau tied for third place at Sunday’s PGA US Open at Pinehurst 2 in North Carolina. Since 2018, the Utah Championship tournament has partnered with Finau and the Tony Finau Foundation to provide resources to develop Utah’s young, talented golfers. Approximately $500,000 has been donated to the foundation’s mentoring program, assisting elite Utah golfers like Patrick Fishburn, Peter Kuest, Blake Tomlinson, and Connor Howe.
The Utah Championship, presented by Zions Bank, is one of the original stops on the Korn Ferry Tour. Since its debut in 1990, it has produced a strong list of champions, including the inaugural winner, John Daly, and Masters champion Zach Johnson.
The Utah Championship will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel, side by side with the Paris 2024 Olympics.
