PARK CITY, Utah — Park City Municipal announced today that a new transportation director will oversee the planning and operations of the city’s transit system.
Tim Sanderson, a national transit professional with experience in managing transit in venues with large special events and seasonal demand fluctuations, will fill the role.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tim to our multi-faceted and hard-working team, as he brings a wealth of transit and transportation experience,” said Matt Dias, city manager for Park City. “We are excited to support him as the Mayor and Council continue to pursue long-term transportation solutions and explore further investments toward solving some of Park City’s most pressing challenges.”
Sanderson, a Canadian, has served in leadership roles in several other prominent transit and transportation agencies. He is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Master of Public Administration and has extensive experience in strategic planning, optimizing transit routes, managing strategic parking, and mitigating peak traffic.
In his new role, Sanderson will oversee the development of long-term transportation solutions and collaborate with the Utah Transit Authority, the Utah Department of Transportation, and High Valley Transit on transportation planning and operations.
“I am thrilled to have Tim’s fresh perspective, skills, and experience added to our team,” said Mayor Nann Worel. “With him onboard, we add a leader who has managed transit in venues with large special events and seasonal demand fluctuations – much like we experience in our community.”
