Mikaël Kingsbury makes history with 87th World Cup victory at Deer Valley
Mikaël Kingsbury took home his 87th world cup win on Thursday with a 82.17 run score. This win puts Kingsbury ahead of Ingemar Stenmark, setting a new record for the most World Cup wins by a male athlete across any FIS Olympic discipline.
PARK CITY, Utah — Under the lights at the renowned Deer Valley FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup, Men’s Moguls competition Canadian skier Mikaël Kingsbury took home his 87th world cup win on Thursday with a 82.17 run score. This win puts Kingsbury ahead of Ingemar Stenmark, setting a new record for the most World Cup wins by a male athlete across any FIS Olympic discipline. Ikuma Horishima (JPN) placed second with a 79.15 and Filip Greavenfors (SWE) placed third with a 78.80. Notably, Park City local Nick Page placed 5th but threw a massive 1440 off the second jump.

For the women, Olivia Giaccio (USA) took first with a 75.42 run score with a stunning 1080 off the final jump. This victory also marked a historic moment, FIS reports that it was the first time a women’s run, that included a 1080, clinched the top spot on the podium at Champion Run in Deer Valley. Jaelin Kauf (USA) placed second with a 70.87 and Hinako Tomitaka (JPN) finished third with a score of 67.33.
The action continues on Friday with the aerials competition, before returning to Champion Run on Saturday for the dual moguls competitions on Saturday.
