Park City School District re-introduces GPS tracking for school buses

GPS app, MyView, keeps parents informed in real-time of bus delays, particularly useful during harsh winter months.

PARK CITY, Utah — In a move to enhance the reliability and safety of school transportation, the Park City School District has introduced a new GPS tracking system for its bus fleet. This development comes as a direct response to concerns raised by parents about bus delays, particularly during the harsh winter months. Parents can create an account with MyView using school code PAR1269 and their child’s student ID number.

The district had a similar system in the past, but it became non-operational during the COVID-19 pandemic due to the closure of the original company. As a solution, the district partnered with MyView, which allows parents to track the real-time location of school buses.

Lisa Getson, a PCSD parent, highlighted the system’s practicality. Prior to the former app shutting down, Getson said “it was especially useful to know if the bus was on time in the winter mornings.”
