IndoorGolfClub’s swinging success
PARK CITY, Utah — Born and raised in Indiana, owner and founder of the IndoorGolfClub (IGC) Justin Johnson’s love for golf began early.
“I played all sports but certainly fell in love with golf at a young age,” Johnson said. “I kind of joke, but it’s true that the golf course was my daycare growing up. My dad would drop me off in the summers and then go to work. Then, eight or nine hours later, he’d pick me up.”
His connection with the sport grew even stronger during his college years at Methodist University in North Carolina, where he pursued a business degree and PGA certification.
“With that degree, you bounced around the country doing internships, and my mentor at the time got me an internship at Promontory in 2004.” The beauty and the golfing culture of Park City (and meeting his future wife, Katie) left a mark on him, leading to his return in 2008 after working at Pebble Beach Company in California.
Upon returning to Park City, Johnson secured a position at Talisker Club and eventually became the Director of Canyons Golf for nearly seven years. It was during this time that he and his future business partner began discussing the idea that would become IGC.
In 2020, after years of contemplation, their wives delivered a clear message during a dinner – either turn the dream into reality or stop talking about it.
IGC started with a single suite equipped with Trackman technology, attracting golf enthusiasts in Park City. The concept gained traction due to Park City’s climate, the avid golfing population, and the absence of practice facilities.
The response was overwhelming, with IGC selling out memberships in just two months, prompting the addition of two more suites a year later. Named Morris, Nicklaus, and O’Meara, these private suites provide golfers with a high-tech environment to refine their skills.
“We’re here to help,” he said. “Whether you’re trying to get your family interested in golf, or whether you’re a 12-handicap trying to get to a single digit, or an executive trying to look respectable at corporate golf outings, we’re here to help you with all things golf.”
The facility operates as a 24/7, 365-day private golf club, providing a haven for individuals and families seeking to improve their golf game all year round. The bays are reservation-based, ensuring your space and time.
The facility also provides golf club storage, retail options, and a tranquil space for families to enjoy quality time. Each bay has a welcoming atmosphere for members and their guests and includes Trackman technology, a lounge area, TVs, and light snacks and beverages.
IGC has emerged as a much-needed hub for golf enthusiasts in the Park City area, offering a unique blend of cutting-edge technology, expert instruction, and a welcoming environment. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a beginner, IGC can help hone your game or provide a space to play and connect with friends and family.
