TownLift 2023 Local Holiday Shopping Spree winners announced!
PARK CITY, Utah — TownLift is excited to announce the winners of the 2023 Local Holiday Shopping Spree presented by the Park City Chamber of Commerce. The contest garnered over 2,100 entries, and $13,000 in prizes from local businesses, all in an effort to remind the community to #shoplocal this holiday season.
Three lucky winners were randomly selected from the 2,100 entries and, the winners are, drumroll please:
Rob Houghtaling with the Shoppers Package totaling $3,349 in prizes.
The first thing he told TownLift when he got the announcement that he won was, “This is so surreal, I never win anything!” We asked Houghtaling what he was going to do with his winnings.
“Last year my apartment burned down in a fire, and I lost most of my possessions… I am going to use the winnings to replace a lot of the gear and clothes I lost for skiing.”
Keren Makuze with the Family Package totaling $3,997 in prizes.
It was dejá vu when Makuze came into the offices to collect her prizes saying the same thing as Houghtaling. “At first, I thought this was a joke because I never win anything!”
We asked Makuze what she plans to do with her prizes. This mom of three boys said, “Well, the first thing we’ll probably use is the Stretch Lab gift cards because my husband has been wanting to try it forever, so he’s going to be very excited. And we just happened to do a trial at Athletic Republic for my son who’s 10 and plays soccer… Everything else will for sure get used!”
Abby Walton with the Wellness Package totaling $5,858 in prizes.
Walton is an EMT with the Park City Fire Department and was in the middle of her on-call shift at the station when she got the call that she was the winner. When we told Walton she won the Wellness Package, she said, “Perfect timing!”
We at TownLift want to thank all the businesses who sponsored this year’s Local Holiday Shopping Spree. The holiday season has just begun, and remember to #shoplocal and support local businesses this holiday season.
