Barn near Jordanelle a total loss in early morning fire
WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — A 40-stall equestrian barn at the SkyRidge development on the west side of Jordanelle Reservoir has been declared a total loss after a fire broke out at approximately 7:30 this morning.
According to Jason Provost, Wasatch County Fire District assistant chief, upon arrival firefighters found the barn totally engulfed in flames. It was under construction at the time of the fire. No animals were inside.
According to Tyler Aldous, managing director at SkyRidge, no evacuations were necessary, and the fire has now been contained.
“We are grateful for the quick response by the Wasatch Fire District, in cooperation with Park City Fire District and Wasatch County Sheriff, and for their expertise to contain the fire safely and swiftly,” Aldous said. “I also appreciate the early-morning construction crew members who first noticed flames and immediately called 911.”
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
