Pay tribute with National Ability Center Saluting Our Heroes luncheon

'As we prepare for the annual Saluting Our Heroes luncheon, we are reminded of the incredible sacrifice of our military service members and veterans,' said Tracy Meier, chief program and education officer at the National Ability Center

PARK CITY, Utah — The National Ability Center has announced the details of its annual Saluting Our Heroes luncheon, a highly anticipated event that pays tribute to individuals who have bravely served our country. This event honors these heroes and raises awareness about the needs of service members, veterans and their families.

The event will held on Nov. 2 and attendees will enjoy a full catered lunch, networking opportunities and informative sessions about the National Ability Center’s programs. A VIP reception will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. General admission tickets for the event are currently available for $60, while military service members and veterans can purchase tickets for $30.

In anticipation of Veterans Day, the NAC will also host a week-long Field of Flags display from Nov. 8 to Nov. 15 at the Miners Hospital Community Center in Park City. There will be 150 flags in remembrance of military personnel and veterans from the Park City community. The public is encouraged to walk through the display.

“As we prepare for the annual Saluting Our Heroes luncheon, we are reminded of the incredible sacrifice of our military service members and veterans. This event is more than just a luncheon, it’s a heartfelt tribute to those who have given so much for our nation,” said Tracy Meier, chief program and education officer at the National Ability Center in a press release. “Attendee support allows us to welcome members of the armed forces from every era and branch and showcase the positive impact of participating in ongoing lessons, specialized camps and more.”

For over 35 years, the National Ability Center has passionately served the military community through various programs. Saluting Our Heroes is a special occasion that not only celebrates the invaluable services provided by the NAC, but also helps fund the organization’s military programs.

Attendees will hear a keynote speech by retired Command Sergeant Major Bill Thetford, a veteran with over 35 years of Special Operations experience. Thetford’s extraordinary journey includes serving in both the Ranger Regiment and Special Missions Unit, where he held numerous NCO leadership positions, ultimately achieving the rank of Command Sergeant Major.

This year’s participant speaker is Marcy Hehnly, a veteran who has 15 years of law enforcement experience in the U.S. Army and at the Cobb County Police Department.

“I’m deeply honored to be the keynote speaker at Saluting Our Heroes because I believe in the power of shining a light on the collective sacrifices and resilience of service men and women,” said Thetford, the keynote speaker, in a press release. “Just as important is recognizing the invaluable work of organizations like the NAC, which empower and support veterans as they transition into civilian life, fostering a brighter future for us all.”
