According to a description of “Horizon: An American Saga” released by Warner Bros., the films are expected to follow in the tradition of the studio’s previous iconic Western films.
“‘Horizon: An American Saga’ explores the lure of the Old West and how it was won — and lost —t hrough the blood, sweat and tears of many,” said the films’ description.
The films were directed by Costner and written by Costner and Jon Baird, and will span the four years of the Civil War, and explore the complexities of American life at that time.
“Costner’s ambitious cinematic adventure will take audiences on an emotional journey across a country at war with itself, experienced through the lens of families, friends and foes all attempting to discover what it truly means to be the United States of America,” said the films’ description.
According to the films’ IMDb page, they were filmed in Utah. In addition to Costner, big names such as Sam Worthington, Jena Malone, Jamie Campbell Bower and Luke Wilson are expected to make an appearance in the series.
