Motorcyclist arrested after running out of gas during police pursuit
SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah — A motorcyclist was arrested on Saturday, September 16, when they ran out of gas after engaging law enforcement in a high-speed chase.
According to a police report from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), deputies engaged the motorcyclist in multiple pursuits on Saturday night. The motorcyclist was clocked exceeding speeds of 130 mph multiple times during the chase.
The motorcyclist continued into Wyoming where another pursuit was initiated by local law enforcement there. The motorcyclist then re-entered Summit County.
“Deputies surveyed the motorcycle at a distance, as it pulled into Phillips 66 in Coalville where the driver stopped for gas,” stated a police report from the SCSO. “The driver was placed into custody without incident.”
