Miners Day 2023: traffic and parking essential information
PARK CITY, Utah — Miners Day is set to bring both family fun and traffic impacts to Park City on Monday, September 4.
The Miners Day parade will begin at 11 a.m., and the route will include Main Street and Park Avenue, and conclude at City Park.
Vehicles and parking will be removed from Main Street, Swede Alley, Swede Alley Surface Lots, Heber Avenue and Park Avenue (9th Street to 14th Street) from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.. Traffic will be restricted throughout the event, and no parking for event activities will be available at the south end of City Park, the Library or on Sullivan Road.
No public parking will be allowed on Park Avenue, Swede Alley or other residential streets around Old Town. Access passes will be required for residents and businesses with off-street parking. Free parking and transit to Old Town will be available at the Richardson Flat Park-and-Ride, Park City School District, Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort. For bus schedules visit parkcitytransit.org or highvalleytransit.org.
Paid parking will be available at the China Bridge Parking Structure for $15 an hour from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and standard rates after 1, Swede Alley Surface Parking Lots after 1 p.m., and private parking lots throughout Old Town.
Business, carpool and employee permit holders can park in the North Marsac or Gateway Center upper lots, or at China Bridge if those lots are full. The Flag Pole lot will be unavailable from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Drop off, pick up and taxi staging will be available at the South Marsac Lot.

- 7:30-9:30 a.m. – Miners Day Breakfast, City Park
- 8 a.m. – Miners Day Bark City 5k Run, City Park (bring your dog)
- 10:30 a.m. – Running of the Balls, Main Street (get there early to buy balls or buy in advance online)
- 11 a.m. – Miners Day Parade, Main Street
- 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. – Food Trucks & Beer/Liquor Garden, Food Trucks & Beer/Liquor Garden, City Park
- 11:45 a.m.-1:45 p.m. – Music in the Park, City Park Stage
- 12:30-1 p.m. – Kids Games, City Park
- 12:30-3 p.m. – Mining Demonstrations, City Park (across from library on Park Ave.)
- 2:30-4:30 p.m. – Music in the Park, City Park Stage
