Back 2 School Basics registration now open
PARK CITY, Utah—The Christian Center of Park City (CCPC) recently announced open registration is now available for their Back 2 School Basics program, designed for families in need in Wasatch and Summit counties for kindergarten through high school children.
To qualify, children need to be enrolled in either county and is also available to people who homeschool their children as well; proof of registration is still required. Registration can be done at either pantry in Park City or Heber during normal pantry hours.
“This is a great partnership with the Outlet Mall,” said Matt Melville, director of programs for CCPC. “Quite a few stores also offer great deals for our participants. They also get to use our tax ID so everything is tax-free if they use one of our gift cards, making the actual buying power close to $175.”
The Back 2 School Basics program is designed to meet the needs of Summit and Wasatch Counties families by easing the financial strain of back-to-school shopping. Each participating child is given $100 to spend at the Outlets Park City and a new backpack and school supplies. This initiative is made possible through the support of volunteers who have donated their time, donors who have sponsored children, and funding from grants. Last year, 1500 students registered for Back 2 School Basics.
The actual Back 2 Basics event will take place on August 9-10 at Outlets Park City.
