Peace House holds annual ‘No More Secrets’ fundraising event at Promontory
PARK CITY, Utah — The Peace House will host its biggest fundraiser of the year on Thursday, May 4, at Promontory’s Double Deer Club at 10:45 a.m.
The annual fundraising event entitled “No More Secrets” is meant to unite the community and champion the fight against interpersonal violence and abuse while honoring the strength and resiliency of survivors.
Rachel Louise Snyder, author of Esquire and 2019 New York Times book of the year “No Visible Bruises,” will be the event’s keynote speaker. Snyder covers the topics of the dark corners of private violence, its far-reaching adverse effects on society, and who to truly address it while talking through stories of victims, perpetrators, law enforcement, and reform movements that have taken place across the country. Rich Wyman will provide music for guests.
“Each day, our mission is to meet survivors where they are and offer individualized support and care for their experience and situation,” said Kendra Wyckoff, executive director of the Peace House. “By providing a range of services, such as the 24/7 helpline, clinical therapy, legal advocacy, and safe housing, survivors can access a continuum of care that addresses their needs whether they live on campus or in our community. This event not only helps to raise awareness about interpersonal violence but ensures that the lifesaving and changing Peace House programs are available around the clock in a survivor’s time of greatest need.”
The Marriott Daughters Foundation and an anonymous donor have pledged a $100,000 matching grant, making any donation made immediately doubled. Those unable to attend can still donate to help the Peace House continue its efforts and reach the $100,000 match goal.
If you or someone you know is experiencing violence or abuse, please call the Peace House helpline at 800-647-9161. Advocates are available 24/7 to recommend resources, provide support, and more. Further information can be found on the Peace House website.
