Petition to build a bunny hill for Park City children circulating
PARK CITY, Utah — A Change.org petition for new Park City town bunny hill is circulating online.
It started out with a goal of 1,000 signatures and since that goal has been reached, it’s evolved to a goal of 1,500.
The petition reads “support for the construction of a magic carpet or tow rope-equipped town bunny hill.”
The seven reasons for the petition include:
- Paid parking
- Resort closing times are around 4 p.m.
- Access to bunny hill
- Ability to focus (hindered at resorts)
- Woodward (cost/parking constraints)
- Lessons (cost prohibitive/no opportunity to teach bond)
- Overall lack of convenience
Other Western ski towns that have town hills include Jackson, WY, Breckenridge, CO, and Steamboat Springs, CO.
In the language of the Change.org documentation, Kayla Jacks ‘started the petition to get the attention of the following three persons:
- Ken Fisher, Recreation Advisory Board Park City
- Dana Jones, Basin Recreation District Director
- Brandi Connolly, Basin Recreation Board Chair
Jacks writes that time is of the essence because, “Basin Recreation is currently working on their Master Plan.”
No specific location for the bunny hill has yet been proposed.
