Florida man pleads not guilty in viral chairlift altercation incident
PARK CITY, Utah — A 39-year-old man from Florida has plead not guilty to multiple charges after a chairlift altercation that went viral late last year.
Carlos Lamar Dinkins was charged with assault in January in connection with a physical altercation that took place on a chairlift at Park City Mountain on December 26.
According to court documents, Dinkins has plead not guilty to charges of assault and disorderly conduct.
The altercation occurred between Dinkins and another 52-year-old Florida man. Allegedly, the 52-year-old man elbowed Dinkins in the face while the two rode on the Saddleback Lift. The 52-year-old man has denied that this occurred.
Dinkins then claimed to have punched the older man multiple times until the 52-year-old man stopped being aggressive. Dinkins has denied saying that he wanted to fight the older man.
TikTok videos of the incident published by the profile @kaelynfaria have received millions of views, and show Dinkins on his knees on the chairlift, verbally and physically assaulting the 52-year-old man. Warning: videos contain strong language.
