USA Para Bobsled historic World Cup result at Lillehammer track

LILLEHAMMER, Norway — The United States Bobsled Skeleton Federation (USABS) made history as the International Bobsleigh Skeleton Federation (IBSF) Para Sport World Cup season concluded on Sunday with the best overall finish for a USA Para Bobsled team in the history of the nation’s participation in the sport.

Will Castillo finished first overall in the entire Para Sport tour and incredibly, every single one of his fellow teammates also finished within the top 10, with Bob Balk finishing 4th, Austin Parker finishing 6th and David Christopher finishing 9th.

“What an incredible season, I am a product of all the great people around me!” Castillo said in a statement, about his amazing finish.

The origins of Para Bobsledding traces back to Park City with its globally unique pairing of the Utah Olympic Park, and the National Ability Center.

Great Britain, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, Latvia, Germany, and Sweden were among the countries represented at the Norwegian competition.
